DEBRA CHANNON COUNSELLING

Life has its ups and downs. If you find you're struggling to cope, feeling lost or need support with change, challenge or conflict, then therapeutic counselling can help you find the perspective, self-awareness and acceptance to move forward in the way that's right for you.

How I can help

Counselling is a talking therapy that provides a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, experiences and concerns in a way that might be difficult or impossible with other people in your life. I believe that you are the expert on your life, and that my role as your counsellor is to listen, help and support you to:

  • Explore existing and alternative perspectives
  • Better understand how you relate to others and yourself
  • Increase your self-awareness and acceptance
  • Uncover your inner strengths and resources
  • Find alternative options and ways of coping
  • Move forward in the way that's right for you

There are many issues and challenges that bring people to counselling; all clients are different and have individual needs, so your experience of counselling will be unique to you. These are some of the issues I can help you with:

About me

I am a qualified counsellor and my approach is person-centred. This means I offer an empathetic, supportive and non-judgemental space for you to explore what's most important to you. Above all else, I provide a consistent environment of acceptance where I hope you can flourish and begin fulfilling your potential.

I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure that I practice to the highest professional standards. I come with experience of the corporate and charity sectors, including many years as a Samaritan. I also volunteer as a bereavement counsellor at St Raphael's Hospice in Cheam, London. Born and raised in South London, I value the difference and diversity that comes with the mixing and mingling of people, culture and community.

I currently have availability for online counselling (UK wide), which provides convenience and flexibility as all you need is a computer, tablet or phone and connectivity, plus a quiet, private place free of interruption.

Online sessions are 50-minutes and cost £65. Counselling sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly at a regular time and are normally open ended, so that you have the choice of how long you'd like to continue for.

I offer reduced-fee sessions for counselling students, please get in touch for details.
